Marketing Manager, Equipment • Emeryville, CA

f’real foods is a fast-growing company that designs, sells, and markets authentic milkshakes, smoothies, and frozen cappuccino blended frozen beverages all made from real ingredients - ice cream, fruit, milk, and coffee. Consumers freshly blend our delicious products in our patented blender in over 11,000 locations across the US and Canada, primarily at convenience stores, colleges, and universities. We’re small (in number of employees) but our revenue and growth rate aren’t. And while we enjoy working hard, we also work hard at keeping that work/life thing in balance.

Job Description:
Reports to the Director of Marketing and will be responsible for leading and managing the execution of all equipment initiatives as well as managing the brand’s in-store presence. Specifically, this role develops and manages the equipment roadmap, manages the digital sign in-store asset, develops all brand merchandising and POS material, and ensures all data reporting needs from our equipment are met.

Areas of Responsibility:
Leads the development of the equipment roadmap and equipment portfolio strategy based on (1) in-depth knowledge of customer and consumer needs, and (2) quantification of market opportunities
Leads cross functional equipment development teams
Develops content for and manages the digital sign network in partnership with the customer marketing team
Develops the brand merchandising presence
Leads development of all POS materials – works closely with the customer marketing team, the brand manager and graphic designer to ensure materials align with brand strategies
Works with the sales team to launch and sell equipment
Works with the engineering team and the data analyst to ensure all blender reporting needs are met with our proprietary software

About you:
We’re looking for a highly motivated, passionate, results-driven person who has a foundation in consumer products marketing with additional experience in developing technology driven products. You are super sharp, upbeat, enjoy a challenge, and you know how to have fun while at work.

Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in developing/managing equipment or technology products, a foundation in consumer packaged goods with classical brand management training preferred
Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive, influence, and operate in an entrepreneurial environment
Ability to think creatively and critically as an individual while working effectively with a team
Outstanding communication skills – both oral and written
Comfort working in a fast-faced, constantly-changing environment
High energy, can-do attitude in a team-oriented culture, good sense of humor

Quality Manager • Emeryville, CA

f'real foods a rapidly growing Bay Area based company that develops, markets and sells frozen blended drinks and the equipment that blends them up for consumers. Check us out at www.freal.com. Job Description:
We are seeking a Quality Manager to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to help develop and implement a comprehensive quality plan that will support the growth of our business. Our drinks are made from only the best ingredients. They are packaged in cups that are specially designed to engage with our automated blender. The overall product offering is an intricate system that needs to work seamlessly together. This is where you come in. You will act as an advocate and subject matter expert for food safety and product quality within the company. You will be working to implement and continuously improve our quality systems to ensure that our f’real products consistently exceed expectations in terms of food safety and quality and are in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Specifically, you will be:
Partnering with our co-packers and packaging vendors to review and improve quality controls and monitoring systems
Identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions when defects occur
Working as part of our food product development process as a quality resource and guide
Providing technical services at pilot production runs (with new products or new manufacturers)
Providing quality guidance to our engineering, marketing and sales groups
Directly interacting with health agencies who have questions about our current and new blending systems
Researching and responding to customers and consumers regarding food quality and packaging concerns and questions
Managing our document control system for product formulations
Improving our sensory evaluation program
Engaging in design and execution of experiments (product stability, micro challenge studies, etc.)
Leading continuous improvement efforts based on quality data including customer and consumer feedback
Supporting food safety and quality initiatives as part of our broader partnership with Rich Products Company

Ideal Qualifications:
Technical bachelor’s degree; preferably in dairy science/food science, microbiology or other related area
3 to 5 years quality experience, strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FDA & USDA regulations
Background in food packaging production processes
Ability to meet quality improvement objectives and business priorities
Great negotiation skills and interpersonal abilities

Retail Account Manager (Canada) • Toronto, Canada

We have three existing product lines; milkshakes, frozen cappuccinos and smoothies. The bulk of our current sales are from large convenience store accounts. Your goal will be growing sales in those accounts and hunting for new business in the retail and the food management sectors. We’re small (in terms of number of employees) but our revenue and growth rate aren’t. And while we enjoy working hard we also work hard at keeping that work/life thing in balance.

Job Description:
You will be responsible for delivering profitable sales growth within retail locations in Canada.

Areas of Responsibility:
Sell our frozen beverage platform to a targeted list of retailers and food management accounts in Canada.
Develop direct marketing tools that will help sell our platform and increase cup sales with existing customers
Present category information and our unique program to retailer and their teams
Developing business by working closely with distributors to help generate leads, and where possible, to work with their sales force to secure new business
Managing the day-to-day relationship with each of our retail and food service customers
Works closely with customer marketing and field marketing teams to develop promotions and customer initiatives to increase cup sales

About you:
We’re looking for a very highly motivated, self-starter, who has a track record of being able to sell within the Retail and Food Management Segments. Odds are that you like the freedom of working independently as 30-50% of your time will be spent traveling to meet with customers in Canada.
